In fact, people have been applying antimicrobial treatments to textiles dating back to 3000 BC. The Egyptians then used natural spices and herbs to preserve their mummies.
During the Second World War, antimicrobials were widely used in most countries to prevent textiles from rotting. When these chemical agents caused health and pollution-related problems, modern guidelines for the production of antimicrobial textiles were developed in the early 1960s. Some of these broad guidelines include:

• Antimicrobials must be suitable for textile processing
• They must be durable in processes such as washing, dry cleaning and heat pressing
• They must be safe to use on the skin or in the application area
• All antimicrobials must be environmentally friendly. 

Under most normal conditions, a single bacterial cell can multiply to 1,000,000+ cells in seven hours. Uncontrolled growth of microorganisms may result in adverse health conditions for humans.
When microorganisms grow on textiles, they reduce the mechanical strength of the material and cause stains on the fabric. In some cases, microorganisms have wreaked havoc on textiles packed in shipping containers, leading to textiles now being packed in airtight packaging.  
However, the effects of these microbes on humans are far more serious, such as unpleasant odours and infections. These are a few reasons why Antimicrobial Yarns were developed and used in several applications today. 

What is FREEZING™ Antibacterial and de-mite Ice Cooling Yarn?

FREEZING™ Antibacterial and de-mite Fibre uses physical antimicrobial method to make the fibre positively charged and adsorb all kinds of bacteria and mites that are negatively charged. Inhibit the division and reproduction ability of bacteria and mites, make them suffocate and die quickly, so as to achieve antibacterial and anti-mite effect. High coolness, no chemical pest control, no pollution to the environment, safe and reliable.

This is a lighter-than-water fibre that has been treated with FREEZING™ technology for higher thermal conductivity, which quickly channels excess heat away from the body and has a constant cooling effect.

150D, 200D, 300D, 400D are mainly used in home textile field;

Other specifications are used in industrial applications, such as cable jackets;

Full Dull are mainly used in woven fabrics for UV protection.
