What is UHMWPE?
UHMWPE has a unique combination of properties.The density is slightly less than 1g/cm3, so the fiber floats on water. But the tenacity is approaching higher in the fiber and can be up to 15times that of a good quality steel. The modulus is very high over 1000CN/dtex. Elongation at break is as low as for other high performance fibres, but due to the high tenacity the energy to break is high. Nowadays UHMWPE fiber has been used in lots of application areas
